ARTIST STATEMENT
Katie B Temple is a mixed-media artist whose paintings examine universal ideas of leaving home, not having a place to call home, and searching for home. She received a BFA from Bowling Green State University and a MFA from Montana State University. Katie’s distinctive style has allowed her to be an active exhibitor; landing in the top-10 list of "Best Exhibitions of 2016 in Omaha" by TheReader.Com for her 'Sense of Home' solo exhibition at the Michael Phipps Gallery. Clients and recent commissions include Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, Cozad Community Foundation, and Benson Theatre.

In addition to her professional art practice, Katie serves as the Studio Manager for Joslyn Art Museum’s Kent Bellows Mentoring Program; an interdisciplinary art studio for teens to explore, observe, think, and create in the arts. In 2020, she was 1 of 15 mentoring practitioners awarded a Fellowship for the National Mentoring Summit in Washington DC.
